Our story
Why we built Ratio
Ratio Accounting was founded because we kept seeing the same story: talented people running great businesses, stuck with accountants who didn't communicate, didn't plan ahead, and left them blindsided by tax bills and cash flow problems.
We built Ratio to be the opposite of that experience. Real-time books you can actually understand. Proactive tax strategy with quarterly check-ins. Michael Pote
Partner
Michael Pote has been a change agent within healthcare for over 25 years. Having held senior positions with the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), HealthStream (HSTM), Initia, APOS Therapy, USAI, and EyeCarePro, he thrives on accomplishing the most difficult challenges. In 2013, he founded a national association for healthcare practice owners, and in 2015 he started The Growth Cooperative, which has assisted over 300 businesses with the preparation and sale of their practices. He is a special education teacher by training and spends his free time in his hillside garden, with his wife, or at the skatepark with his eight-year-old son. He is the proud father of three men.
Ryan Bigos
CPA
Ryan Bigos is a Certified Public Accountant who brings years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Beginning his career focusing on healthcare audits with the Big 4, he transitioned to Wealth Management, subsequently becoming CFO of one of the largest privately held healthcare practices in the United States. While spending several years in healthcare, Ryan found a passion for M&A activity, enhancing and streamlining companies' financials while preparing for expansion and sale opportunities. After transacting a monumental sale, Ryan assisted a new healthcare startup before pivoting to CFO of a leading data center construction company in Northern Virginia. Ryan brings high-level business acumen and thrives on fostering growth for his clients. Currently residing in Northern Virginia, Ryan enjoys spending his free time outdoors or at the beach with his wife, two daughters, and dogs.
